The Temenos TechDays 2025 in Chennai, a Code. Innovate. The conference was held from February 25 to 27, 2025, at the luxurious Leela Palace in Chennai, India. This event brought together more than 800 Temenos experts with Temenos employees, more than 200 partners, and a few clients. More than 40 Breakout/workshop sessions were held. It was my pleasure being there and meeting the innovative people around the world.

Here is a quick summary of the workshops I attended.

  1. Upgrade on Extensibility Framework

Use of Temenos Workbench to create the following

·       Create inherited Payment API version for Payment order with 3 different fields

·       Create Provider API

·       Create an API extension with Python script and Regex and VT schema

  1. Technology stacks for in R25, R26

The General strategy and feature version includes:

Release

Java JDK

JEE

R24

JDK 11 Compile and Runtime

JEE8

R25

JDK 11 Compile, >JDK 11 and JDK 21 Runtime

JEE8 and Jakarta

R26

JDK 21/25 Compile and Runtime

Jakarta 10

Other key changes:

·       Support for upstream K8S and Rancher

·       Huawei cloud stack removed

·       No new customers on Yugabyte

·       MYSQL removed from supported DB

·       AWS Fargate is no longer supported. Kubernetes is standard across all stacks

  1. Mastering API

API Framework Lifecycle

Mastering the full lifecycle of the API Framework, from designing and extending the API using Regular Expressions/Python script to packing and deploying the API artifacts.

The workshop included the following:

Design API: Expose transact banking functionalities as a REST API with the Temenos API framework

Extend API: Configure Regular expressions and Python scripts to validate and default IRIS API request fields.

Package API: Package the Regular Expressions, Python, API artefacts, and its extensions using Temenos Packager

Monitor API: Providing a fast and reliable API can be a competitive advantage. Users are more likely to choose services that offer superior performance and reliability.

  1. Temenos Gen AI for core banking

Temenos is partnered with NVIDIA for the creation of GEN AI. It consists of a large language model (LLM) and is a type of generative AI that has been specifically architected to help generate text-based content. This type of algorithm uses deep learning techniques and massively large data sets to understand, summarize, generate, and predict new content.

While there isn't a universally accepted figure for how large the data set for training needs to be, an LLM typically has at least one billion or more parameters. Parameters are a machine learning term for the variables present in the model on which it was trained that can be used to infer new content. With a large number of parameters and the transformer model, LLMs can understand and generate accurate responses rapidly, which makes the Al technology broadly applicable across many different domains.

  1. Implementation of Data Lifecycle Management for Transact

Along with data separation, copy and purge, and archiving, there are other key enhancements.

·       Performance: Optimization in the selection process and exclusion of RO data from being processed in Batch jobs.

·       Operations: ARC.GENERIC can be run in auto mode

·       Extensible: New attributes support code-free customization

·       Maintenance: Selection in chronological order by year

·       Scope: Archival of AAA open contracts

·       Implementation: Dependency of cross database link removed

·       DLM Monitor: Provides real-time data archiving status

·       Control: System-wide restriction through tafj.property configuration

·       Reconciliation: Copy key list can be saved

  1. Performance Way of Life

PERFORMANCE TUNING OF TRANSACT and MICROSERVICES USING PHR (Performance Health Review) Tool

·       Running test

·       Identifying bottleneck

·       Applying PHR recommendations

·       Verification using PHR

  1. Performance Tuning at Temenos Digital

·       Transact Configurations

·       Fabric & Database configurations

·       Application server configurations

·       Sizing of components

  1. Replacing FT Module

Payment Capabilities: Effective from July 1, 2026, Temenos will cease support of the payment capabilities FT module, including European Payments (EP) across all releases of Temenos Transact.

Account transfer capabilities of the FT module will continued to be supported across release of Temenos Transact

  1. Performance Improvements

·       Generic Accounting Interface GAI improvements

·       Transaction improvements

·       Joblist Fragmentation

·       IRIS improvements

·       Enhances warmup process

·       AA Sync simulation Enhancement

10.   Payments Hub: Unlocking Richer Functionalities

·       What's New in Payments Cockpit

·       Payments' Feature Functions and Extensibility

·       Performance improvements & Exception handling

·       Integrations

·       Project LEAP

·       What's coming in 2025 on Extensibility
